Liveview timing1/12/2024 Now the reason why i posted this, when my friends had the issues i thought it was isolated problem, and until it appeared on YT someone else having the same, however its quite minority taking on the related issues being reported here, so i can relax a littleįorgive me for being blunt: Some people are always complaining that because Leica is so expensive, there shouldn't be any mistakes. Let’s hope they will fix everything through firmware issues, and when they do, people would forget easily… and resale value wont be affected much, i remember m10 early batch suffered from iso dial issues which stuck literally its iso value wont change even manually… first 6 months, mostly get swapped and now most people tend to forget, i wont forget but i prayed everyday my m10 was free of the issue I have a sinking feeling the M11 is going to be the “notorious” camera in the M digital lineup, they will fix these issues in future versions, and the resale value on these particular bodies is going to be terrible in the years to come. They probably had a date on the board when the camera needed to come out, all the marketing commitments they made, and they released it regardless. Or perhaps it’s like so many software companies who put out products that they know have problems, and then just figure the early adopters will suffer, and then they will fix everything in firmware. There’s no way these issues weren’t apparent in beta. They need new beta testers, either that or they need to listen to the people who test the cameras. It’s absolutely shocking that they put this camera out into the marketplace with all the issues it has. Guy in the video is on his 3rd freaking M11. And for nine grand, you would hope that the camera functions reliably, at least in its basic functionality out of the box. Minimizing problems, and making flippant statements like “contact Leica and they’ll fix it” ignores the fact that it takes them months to turn around repairs. Literally, every friend I have who shoots with an M11 has intermittent problems with the camera freezing, even after changing memory cards, even after updating the firmware. With the If your friends' camera is having an issue, have them contact Leica and have it taken care of. Recently, the 10 minutes was reduced to a paltry 40 seconds in many cases (for the Windows 10 App).5-15% of consumer electronics fail. There are even people who have used Ring cameras to monitor their infants and they have been negatively impacted by the 10 minute limit, some have even had emergencies whereby the 10 minute limit has placed their infant in danger. Here is another sad thread listed below on the topic in case you need to understand the reasons for wanting more than 10 minutes. Perhaps those readers could post those links showing the cameras as baby monitor style cameras so we could discuss it further. I have not seen that advertising but others claim to have seen it. Many people claim that Ring advertise the cameras as baby monitor style cameras. For people that want longer than 10 minutes however, they will have to look at other solutions unfortunately. It sounds like the Ring cameras work great for you. For many people, 10 minutes of Live View is just fine but many people prefer much longer than that. There are many other brands that have no 10 minute limit such as Arlo cameras and others. The ring stick-up cameras can also run on solar power but this is for all Ring camera’s as far as I understand it. It was in the Top 5 for more than a year.Īs you continue reading, please keep in mind that you will want to read the following information in the voice of Agent Smith from the Matrix as he interviews Mr. Why not post this in Feature Request and see what this feature request has been on the Feature Request Board for over a year. For me, with my outdoor battery spotlight cameras, the design as is works fine but I folks here have made some pretty reasonable arguments as to why it is insufficient in other cases. Are folks here saying competitor battery operated cameras offer user-selectable times for live view? Which brands? I’m curious now. I think perhaps one reason it is not offered is that it would probably use up the battery pretty quickly, but that would not matter for the hard wired versions. It would seem Ring could imlement the change and leave it up to the user as to how long that live view could be left on. But, I see the points raised by many here that bought indoor cameras to monitor children and the like. I think Ring has marketed their cameras as motion alert cameras and not live-streaming cameras like a traditional CCTV system. I’m not sure if a different team monitors that sub-forum. Would this suggestion get more traction if placed in the Feature Request Forum? That is what the moderators always advise doing.
